Generator
Driveable RVs generally have an onboard generator. This generator should have a remote start/stop switch located inside the RV. The key to examining the generator is to look at the oil and ask about maintenance. Oil should be changed every 100 hours. See engine section above. Then run the generator and turn on all appliances as in A/C, Fridge, and Microwave. Use a volt meter to measure voltage which should be steady between 115 and 120 volts. You can measure the voltage by inserting the leads of the voltmeter into any wall outlet as found in the RV.
Diagnosing a generator issue can take time. Most important is to make sure the Generator can run all appliances in the RV at the same time and not struggle or run rough when doing it.
